Bookshelf

As you can tell from the length of the space, this alcove is rather long but perfect for a bookshelf. I wanted to break up the strong horizontal lines to emphasize the height of the ceilings and felt the best way to do this was to cut through with two diagonals. This way also the books can be grouped more naturally in smaller, more manageable sections. I wallpapered the back of the shelf in House of Hackney’s Palmeral wallpaper to fit with the verdant jungle theme of the room.
