Ladurée Bedroom

Every time I visit Paris I love going to their opulent patisseries especially Angelina and Ladurée. I wanted the bedroom to encapsulate this saccharine ideal and each morning to wake as though feeling I am living in a box of Ladurée macaroons. There is also a scene in Emilie Zola’s novel, Nana, where the protagonist- a blonde courtesan, finally decides on a tea rose pink colour for the walls of her bedroom. I wanted the room to give off tongue in cheek Marie Antoinette vibes with a modern Sofia Coppola film twist. Throughout are mythological references where animals and humans combine, interact, or are anthropomorphized; in keeping with the rest of the design of the flat.

If you are designing a space and need advice, I offer personalised video consultations where we can go over a myriad of ways to make your space work for you and bring you the kind of energy that you need from it. Please e-mail contact@camillejoy.com to reach out!
